Zaarp - AI For The Future Of Travelling

about.

During my MBA in Digital Data Marketing at FIAP, my team and I conducted an in-depth study on the impact of the pandemic on the travel industry. We discovered that many people faced major challenges with financial organization and trip planning. Saving money, building detailed itineraries, and purchasing travel packages were often seen as complex, frustrating and discouraging, which caused many to abandon their travel dreams altogether.

These insights led to the creation of Zaarp, a revolutionary platform that combines artificial intelligence with specialized financial solutions. Zaarp was designed to simplify every step of financial and logistical planning, making it easier, safer and more personalized for people to turn their travel dreams into reality.

my role.

As the design lead for this project, I was responsible for every stage of the digital product development, from initial research to final delivery. I facilitated collaborative sessions such as design thinking workshops and brainstorming activities, ensuring the team remained aligned and creative throughout the process. In addition, I created the first wireframes and developed detailed prototypes that were tested through rigorous usability sessions.

challenge.

Our research uncovered three significant challenges that travelers face when planning their journeys. The first was the widespread perception that traveling is simply too expensive and therefore out of reach for many people. The second was the difficulty of saving money consistently for future trips, which often turned dreams of traveling into distant goals. Finally, we identified the excessive complexity of planning itself. From building personalized itineraries to managing financial resources, the process was seen as overwhelming and discouraging, leading many to give up before even starting.

approach.

To structure our creative process, we applied the Double Diamond methodology, ensuring that each stage of discovery, definition, ideation and delivery was addressed with clarity and collaboration.

We began with in-depth research, combining surveys, interviews and contextual observation to uncover real user needs. From these insights, we defined clear personas, prioritized pain points and shaped a solid value proposition for Zaarp.

With the foundation set, we moved into ideation through creative workshops such as brainstorming, sketching and design studios. This led to early wireframes and interactive prototypes that allowed us to validate key flows and test usability.

User testing played a central role throughout the journey. By running remote sessions, A/B tests and heatmap analysis, we gathered actionable feedback that guided continuous iterations and improvements.

Finally, we delivered high-fidelity screens supported by a reusable design system. The solution was built around four pillars: an intelligent trip planner, seamless financial integration, personalized travel experiences and the use of AI to simplify complex decisions.
